Objections to Developments and Planning Controls

Objections to development and planning controls, Planning advice, town planning, town planners, Sydney, North Shore, Ingham PlanningWhilst development is a critical and necessary part of our society, we believe that it needs to be ‘done right’.  Often it’s not and as such we are commonly requested by neighbours concerned about the impact of development on their property.   We can prepare submissions to the relevant authority that puts your concerns in the context of the relevant planning controls and provides a convincing argument that the subject proposal should be refused or amended.   Often our written submissions are followed up by representations and attendance at Council meetings where our experience in dealing with ‘non-professionals’ can result in a good outcome.

Quite often new planning controls are proposed to be introduced that can have significant adverse impacts on your property.   However, they also have the potential to significantly increase property value.  We have a wealth of experience in reviewing draft plans such as Local Environmental Plans (LEP’s) and Development Control Plans (DCP’s) and can tell you whether these plans will have negative or positive impacts on your property.

Examples of planning submissions we have provided include:

  • Objection to a large scale mixed used development at Kirrawee
  • Submission to Department of Planning and Infrastucture (DoPI) and Waverley Council requesting that certain land be ‘upzoned’ for higher density as part of draft Waverley LEP 2011;
  • Various submissions on retail policy and projects on behalf of Westfield.
