We have been successful in gaining approval for thousands of development applications (DA’s). These range from a simple carport (still highly contentious in some areas!) to very large scale developments involving iconic buildings such as those at Sydney Olympic Park and Centrepoint (Westfield Sydney).

Regardless of size, it is the quality of the submission that is important. Not only should it be appealing and present the proposal in its best light but it needs to be well considered and give a good understanding of its compliance with the relevant controls and its potential impacts.
We believe that our projects have a high approval rating because authorities respect our content and have regard to our opinion.

We also have a wealth of experience in undertaking assessment of DA’s for local government authorities.

Many projects, particularly the larger ones, require far more than good town planning advice. Usually a wide range of expert reports will be required and may include any of the following:

• Social impact assessment

• Urban design statement
• Sustainability / BASIX assessment
• Traffic impact assessment
• Flora and fauna impact assessment/ tree report
• Wind impact assessment
• Reflectivity/daylight assessment

It is our role to review and the coordinate these reports to form part of the Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) (for a DA) or Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) (for a Designated Development Application). We have been involved with the following significant DA/ State Significant Applications:

• DA’s for major facilities associated with the Sydney Olympics including the Athletes’ Village, Stadium Australia (also known as ANZ Stadium), Qudos Arena and Homebush Bay Hotel
• DA’s for most Westfield development in NSW including Westfield Sydney and Westfield Tuggerah.
• DA’s for HELM Property.
• DA Assessment for North Sydney Council of Berry’s Bay Marina proposal
• Major Project Application for new commercial tower at George Street Parramatta.
